Going for Red or Gold?

Red picks up where black left off and becomes the classic color choice for summer. The sizzling hue is shaking off the winter blues and turning up the heat this spring. This monochromatic heavyweight looks especially great when embellished with embroidery, pleats, shine and lace.

Paired with black accessories, red takes on a slightly Asian influence, but it also looks thoroughly modern when teamed with creamy nude tones.

Think of the impression you’ll make! It’s fiery intensity makes it black-tie-appropriate, but soft, chic materials and cuts allow you to work it in the light of day, too. Another essential piece of the season: Shine. A decadent sheen turns everyday essentials into breathtaking works of art. Metallic embroidery, beading and sequins add a luxurious spin and a rich, warm sheen for day or night. Go for tailored, fitted pieces like anything too shapeless takes on the ’70s disco feel. And head-to-toe shimmer means holding off on the heavy accessories.

Gold is the perfect after-dark look. First date, perhaps? Or wear a single piece with understated ivory or beige for day.

So, whether you go Bloody-red or metallic-gold, you’ll definitely make one sizzling hot summer!
