Hormone One on One

Hormones could be either a concept in science lesson or nowadays, an issue of changes. It can be related to issues of gender changes or age. But in both cases, hormones are used to manipulate some of the body’s processes in order to change them to a desired outcome. This is why a hormone therapy has become a very broad topic.

Popularity of hormone therapies is increasingly growing as a result of the growing demand from each of its niche markets. Basically, hormone therapy has three big treatment markets – cancer, human growth and sex reassignment. Among these three, only hormone therapies intended for cancer treatments is a need while human growth and reassignment are more of wants. Hormone therapies in cancer treatments are actions taken to combat a disease. On the other hand, human growth hormone therapy is considered by many as an anti-aging alternative. Hormone replacement therapy for sex reassignment is intentional intake of female hormones for those males aspiring to be females and male hormones for those women aspiring to be males. With the latter two hormone therapies having more demand than the former, massive commercialization of the HGH and Hormone Replacement Therapy is apparent.

But a piece of advice to all of these hormone therapies is awareness and a consideration of the potential side effects is very important. People who are thinking of availing any of these hormone therapies should make sure that the person who will administer the therapy shall discuss thoroughly the side effects prior to treatment since these are intended to cause significant changes in the body.
